Punjab Governor Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) distributed the cheques for Rs 10,000 each as Qarz-e-Hasana to 1,000 needy persons in a ceremony here at Data Darbar on Wednesday. The function also marked the opening of fifth branch of 'Akhuwat', a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), under whose auspices the ceremony was held. Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain also attended the function.
